The electoral body of the Ruthenian community living in Hungary extended the size of the national Ruthenian Minority Self- Government body from 20 to 35.

According to their explanation, this is necessary so that every local minority self government can be represented at the national level. Of the 13 minorities living in Hungary, the Ruthenians were the first to elect their national self- government.

According to a decision by the [National] Electoral Committee, the minorities have to elect their national minority self- governments by the middle of February.
