Summary:
Rusyns in Djordjevo have begun organizing to take part in the upcoming elections to the National Council. A meeting of the local church committee and the executive committee of KUD “Taras Ševčenko” was called this week to discuss the issue.

According to the distribution of members of the Electoral Assembly to the National Council, Djordjevo is entitled to three representatives: two from the municipality of Žabelj (of which the village of Djordjevo is a part) and one from KUD “Taras Ševčenko.” However, together with independent candidates who have collected the necessary signatures, it appears the village will send as many as nine.
