RUSYN NEWS ARCHIVE - 2002 ПРЕ ЧУВАНЄ НАЦИОНАЛНОГО ИДЕНТИТЕТА Summary: Sojuz wants the two – the Rusyn and the Ukrainian – schools to be held together and to be conducted by students and professors who have studied in Ukraine in the past ten years. Last year’s summer Rusyn school was held in Kerestur, while the Ukrainian one took place in Sremska Mitrovica. Sojuz argues that it would be more cost-effective to hold both in the same place. Tamaš also mentoined to Ruskovski the need to form a single National Council for both Rusyns and Ukrainians, according to the article. Ed. note: A brief critique of the positions taken in this article can be found at http://rusnak.netfirms.com/co_se_slucuje.htm#T. The critique points out that this article was not published in Ruske Slovo’s print edition, but only on the Website. The critique advocates separate summer schools and separate National Councils for the two – Rusyn and Ukrainian – communities.] |
