RUSYN NEWS ARCHIVE - 2002 Results of the Vojvodina regional government’s contest for funding for national minority organizations Summary: Wednesday’s article dealt with the funding groups receive for their regular operations. More than 60 groups received a total of YUD 490,000 (apx. USD 800). Ruska Matka, Dom Kulture Ruski Krstur, and the Society for Rusyn Language, Literature and Culture of the Vojvodina each received YUD 5000 (USD 80). The Rusyn national theatre Djadja received YUD 10,000 (USD 160). The Union of Rusyns and Ukrainians of Yugoslavia (Sojuz) also received YUD 5000. On Thursday, Dnevnik took up the funding provided to co-finance projects and events. More than 90 groups share YUD 1,133,000 (apx. USD 18,500). YUD 15,000 (USD 245) each went to Ruska Matka, for participation in the work of the World Council of Rusyns and a tribunal project and to Djadja theatre for staging a new play and travel to Ukraine and Slovakia (15,000). Dom Kulture Ruski Krstur received YUD 25,000 (USD 400) for the Petar Riznić Djadja theatre festival and the Črvena Ruža festival. The Society of Rusyns in Subotica received YUD 5000 (80) for the organization of the literary event “Maftej Bunas Summer,” while YUD 10,000 (USD 160) each went to the Society for Rusyn Language, Literature and Culture of the Vojvodina for 14 projects, including a research project called “150 Years of Rusyn in Sremska Mitrovica,” and to KUD Karpati from Vrbas for theatre productions. Sojuz also received YUD 10,000 for its Youth Debate Club project, and the Serbian-Ukrainian Society of Novi Sad received YUD 10,000 to hold its annual gathering. Friday’s article took on the third category of funding, for co-financing the purchase of equipment and investments. YUD 725,000 (USD 11,850) was distributed among 50 groups. Dom Kulture Ruski Krstur received YUD 20,000 (USD 326) for investments; Djadja theatre received YUD 15,000 (USD 245) for the purchase of sound and light equipment; and the Rusyn Cultural-Educational Society of Novi Sad received YUD 5000 (USD 80) for investments.
