Summary:
Association OLSZÓWKA [Stowarzyszenie OLSZÓWKA], based in Bielsko-Biała, Poland is a Polish organization that which aims at spreading the knowledge of the multicultural aspect of the Carpathians. Its members speak in favor of multiculturalism and underline that Polish culture becomes richer when it interacts with other cultures. The Association has a Website with articles on various ethnic groups present in the Carpathians. It organizes lectures, concerts and engages in publishing activity. Its annual circle of events is concluded with an event called „Carpathians of Many Cultures” [Karpaty Wielu Kultur], which will take place in Bielsko-Biała on 16 November 2002. It offers a series of lectures and presentations of films on various groups inhabiting the Carpathians in what is today the southeastern corner of Poland. Among others there will be a presentation of a documentary film Ideme, ideme, drażky ne znajem, followed by a lecture on Lemko literature by Helena Duć-Fajfer.
