“Lemkos: Co-hosts of the Carpathians”

A cultural event at the Sądecki Open Air Museum in Nowy Sącz “Lemkos: Co-hosts of the Carpathians” presented the local population and tourists with an opportunity to learn about Lemkos. From a Lemko section at the museum that was just enriched with a Lemko-style house from Łabowa to the modern art of Jerzy Nowosielski presented in the church relocated from the village of Czarne participants had a unique opportunity to learn about the past and the present of the group. There was lots of Lemko music including choir arrangements by the “Lemkovyna” ensemble and a solo performance by Julia Doszna. A well-known Lemko poet and community activist Piotr Trochanowski hosted the concert. Many participated in the presentation of Lemko folk crafts, competed in the quiz on Lemko history and culture and tasted Lemko food.
