Results of the Vojvodina regional government’s contest for funding for national minority organizations
(Dnevnik, 12-13 August 2002)

Summary:
In these articles, Dnevnik publishes the results of the competition for financial assistance to minority organizations from the Regional Secretariat for Administration, Regulations and National Minorities for the second half of 2002.

Hungarian organizations fared best, securing proportionally the most funding.

As for the Rusyns, six groups received funding for their regular activities: 5,000 dinars (apx. USD 75) each went to the Rusyn National Theatre Djadja of Ruski Kerestur and the Rusyn Cultural-Educational Society of Novi Sad; 10,000 (USD 150) each to the Cultural-Educational Society (KUD) Karpati of Vrbas and the Society for Rusyn Language, Literature and Culture of Novi Sad; 15,000 (USD 225) to Matica Rusinska of Ruski Kerestur; and 20,000 (USD 300) to the Ruski Kerestur Dom Kulture.

Two Ukrainian organizations received funds: 5,000 went to Sojuz and 20,000 to the Society for Ukrainian Language, Literature and Culture Prosvita of Novi Sad.

Eight Rusyn organizations received funding for projects and special events: 5,000 each went to KUD Karpati and the Rusyn Society of Subotica; 10,000 each to the Kula National Library and Matica Rusinska; 15,000 to the Ruski Kerestur Dom Kulture; and 20,000 each to the Djadja Theatre, KUD Žetva of Kocur and the Society for Rusyn Language, Literature and Culture.

Two Ukrainian organizations received funds: 10,000 went to Sojuz and 15,000 to Prosvita.

For the purchase of equipment and investments, five Rusyn organizations will receive funding: 10,000 each went to the Society for Rusyn Language, Literature and Culture and KUD Karpati; 13,000 (USD 191) to the KUD Ivan Senjuk of Kula; 20,000 to the Ruski Kerestur Dom Kulture; and 30,000 (USD 440) to the Djadja Theatre.

Two Ukrainian organizations received funds: 7,000 (USD 100) went to Prosvita and 20,000 to Sojuz.
