The Dormition of the Holy Mother of God Church holyday and kermesh in Nowica/Novytsia

It has been a long-lasting tradition that on the Dormition of the Holy Mother of God (August 28 according to the Julian calendar) Greek Catholic Lemkos have been gathering at the church in Nowica/Novytsia for liturgy and kermesh. This year the liturgy was celebrated by four priests who later led the procession. It went to a stream from which water is known to cure illnesses. The event that gathered about 200 people was concluded with a kermesh.
