The World Congress of Rusyns is a non-governmental organization registered in the Slovak Republic. Its executive committee is called the World Council of Rusyns and currently has eight members each representing a country in which Rusyns live (or in the case of the United States and Canada, North America is represented as a single entity): Slovakia, Poland, Ukraine, Yugoslavia, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Romania, and North America. New members are proposed and accepted for membership by vote of delegates at each congress. Between congresses, the World Council meets at least twice a year or more frequently when a congress is coming up.
