In early 2001, in anticipation of the December 2001 census of Ukraine, a coalition of Rusyn organizations in the Zakarpatska Oblast printed 100,000 copies of the brochure/calendar shown below. The brochure was distributed throughout the Rusyn-populated areas of the Oblast in the hopes of raising Rusyn identity consciousness for purposes of the census count of nationality and mother tongue.
